Pawspal: The Innovative Pet Carrier Inspired by Space Shuttles

Passakorn Kulkliang's Award-Winning Design Simplifies Pet Travel

Passakorn Kulkliang, a renowned designer, found inspiration for the Pawspal pet carrier in space shuttle luggage. The concept of sci-fi, reliability, and attractiveness drove the design, resulting in a pet carrier that is not only visually appealing but also highly functional. The Pawspal pet carrier is designed for easy stacking and movement of multiple pets simultaneously, thanks to its adjustable base with wheels and hauling bar. An internal ventilation fan ensures comfort for the pets, and the carrier can be easily charged via USB C.

What sets Pawspal apart from other pet carriers is its unique features. It boasts a fully integrated, chargeable air ventilation system, wheels at the bottom for easy movement, and inbuilt stackability. This means that pet owners can comfortably transport multiple pets at once without worrying about overheating. The carrier also includes a USB C charging port, ensuring that the ventilation system can be charged on the go.

The Pawspal pet carrier is made from ABS plastic using an injection process, with parts assembled using snap-fits joints and screws. The carrier measures 328 mm x 475 mm x 360 mm, or 328 mm x 475 mm x 400 mm when including the wheels part. The design is tagged under Pet Carrier, Pet Crate, and Pet Storage.

The design process involved significant research and interviews with pet owners. The team identified that transporting multiple pets was a common challenge for pet owners, often requiring multiple trips to and from the car. Pawspal was designed to solve this problem, allowing pet owners to transport multiple pets safely and efficiently. The project started in October 2020 in Pattaya and was completed in November 2020.

Despite the challenges in refining and selecting the most suitable way to stack and bring the Pawspal pod together without too many mechanics, the design team was successful in creating a practical and innovative solution. The Pawspal pet carrier not only saves energy but also allows pet owners to transport their pets quickly and safely. The design was awarded Silver in A' Pet Care, Toys, Supplies and Products for Animals Design Award in 2021, a testament to its innovative design and functionality.
